Here's a report of our latest travels and existing itinerary.

Had a great time here at the Blue Angel Campground, a really nice RV park on the shore of Perdido Bay. Spent much of the day at the Museum of Naval Aviation, fascinating! Saw many planes I made models of as a teen. Saw the NC-4, the first plane to fly across the Atlantic. (In 1919). On the way to New Orleans we visited Bellingrath Gardens in Theodore, AL - beautiful! Driving along the coast we saw evidence of the great damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. Lots of driveways leading to empty fields and concrete pads where homes and buildings once stood. Lots of remains of piers and jetties—mostly just posts in the water. Several hotels mostly destroyed and just left as they were, apparently abandoned.

We arrived about 6:30 and had a lovely dinner in the woods of a really beautiful and expansive RV park with huge sites. Barb and I stayed here for a week in January, 2004. The park suffered extensive damage from Katrina, but has been completely repaired and cleaned. So far we have seen no evidence of any damage.
We leave early Friday morning for Grapevine TX and visits with HoJo III and family and with Pam & E;bert and their families. The rest of our Itinerary with dates of visits to be confirmed is as follows:

RV Trip Itinerary
Here’s the itinerary for our upcoming RV sojourn through the West. The only times set in stone are our Grand Canyon Elderhostel May 10-15 and Daphne’s granddaughter Lauren’s graduation on May 22. All other dates are tentative and could be rearranged (within some limits) to accommodate those we plan to visit. We will soon be making reservations at all RV parks with the word, “Res” at the end of their addresses, so if our scheduled visit is not good for you and you would like us to change a date or if you’d like us to insert another stop, please let us know ASAP.
We would love to visit any of you along the way so if you’re not on our schedule and if we’re coming near you at a convenient time, and you’d like to see us, please let us know.
Should you know of someone along our route who might like a visit, forward this to them and have them get in touch. We don’t know where every relative or friend could be and we might pass nearby without even realizing it.

We plan on taking I-80 to Salt Lake City, US 40 to Estes park and then Denver, I-70 through KC, St Louis, and Indy, then home to the lake. We have time to make stops as we travel and might wander off to sightsee almost anywhere. We would love to visit any of you along the way so if you’d like a visit, please let us know.
